Finally a waterproof Galaxy A

The Galaxy A series is Samsung's most popular phone series. And even though this A52 is right in the middle, all eyes are on it. That is because it has the potential to be a huge sales success. Samsung anticipated this, and that is why they gave it some interesting specifications. Specifications that we previously only saw on expensive flagships. Think of a waterproof casing and a smooth 120Hz screen. This high refresh rate ensures that scrolling is extra fluid. Samsung uses an AMOLED screen that is known for its colourful display, and with a maximum brightness of 800 nits, it is also easy to read outdoors.

Sharper pictures

Samsung compliments itself with a new look for the Galaxy A52 5G but the front still looks pretty much the same as the A51. The differences are mainly on the back. A mostly flat back consisting of a single solid colour. The camera module rises a bit like an island. On it we find 4 different cameras; a 64MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), 12MP ultra wide angle, 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth camera. The main camera always shoots razor sharp photos and videos thanks to image stabilisation. With the wide-angle lens you get more in the picture; ideal for spatial shooting. The macro camera captures objects very close and the depth camera helps to create focus/depth. This allows you to blur the background in portrait photos, which always gives a nice effect. Finally, there is still a single 32MP selfie camera on the front, which allows you to apply the same background blur.

Large battery with fast charging

Samsung gives the Galaxy A52 5G a powerful octa-core processor with 6GB of RAM memory for the model with 128GB of storage and even 8GB of RAM for the model with 256GB of storage. Apps start up nice and fast as a result. For the gamers amongst us, there is Game Booster; a special mode where your games are not interrupted by other apps and which ensures high frame rates. The stereo speakers ensure that you experience the games even more. Inside the A52 is a 4500 mAh battery that ensures sufficient battery life. Charging is fast with 25W, but it is a pity that there is 'only' a 15W charger in the box. Wireless charging is not possible with this A52; you are stuck with a cable.
