Samsung Galaxy A12 product description

The Samsung Galaxy A12 is one of the most affordable Galaxy phones you can get. Despite its low price, the A12 is a full-fledged smartphone with everything that you may expect from a modern phone. What exactly is something we will try to explain here.

Big screen for less

The screen of a modern phone is one of the most important things. Fortunately, Samsung has not skimped on that. It is a large 6.5 inch screen with a nice HD+ resolution. Samsung itself calls the screen an Infinity-V Display. That is a reference to the v-shaped notch at the top for the selfie camera. In practise, this notch is hardly in the way; it is right in the middle of the status bar. The screen has small edges at the top, left and right; only at the bottom, there is a so-called chin. The corners are rounded, so that the Galaxy A12 is comfortable to handle.

4 cameras for the price of 1

Another important aspect of a phone is its camera. So we were pleasantly surprised to hear that Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A12 with no less than 4 cameras on the back. The main camera has 48 megapixels and is equipped with a nice f/2.0 lens in order to take well-lit photos in the twilight. If it becomes too dark, then there is a single LED flash present. Furthermore, there is a 5 megapixel camera with 123° ultra wide-angle lens that is good for taking nature photos. There is more space in the image. On the bottom right, we find a 2 megapixel depth camera that can distinguish between foreground and background. When taking a portrait photo, the A12 makes the background extra blurry for a nice effect. The camera on the top right is also a 2 megapixel and is meant for extreme close-ups.

Goes on and on yet slightly underpowered

To enjoy your Galaxy A12 for a long time, Samsung has equipped it with a hefty 5000 mAh battery. Previously, we did not see this kind of large batteries in entry-level models. This allows you to use your phone for several consecutive days. Charging is extra fast thanks to Adaptive Fast Charging with a maximum of 15 Watt. That sounds fast, but a full charge can easily take several hours. What else did Samsung save on? The back is made of plastic and the processor is not very powerful. It will run most apps without any trouble, but it will have more trouble with gaming and heavy apps.
