Firefox is heading towards the Symbian smartphones

The people of Mozilla are busy getting Firefox ready for Symbian S60 smartphones. It's going to be named "Fennec".

Mozilla has already produced browsers for Windows Mobile and Linux Maemo, but has always ignored the platform with the largest market share for smartphones. Until now, as the two companies made public. We can probably expect the first demo during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, in the beginning of February 2009.

Those who are interested in having a look behind the scenes, we've recently placed a Firefox Mobile concept video that shows what Mozilla is up to.

No Apple, RIM and Android version
Who ever is waiting for a version suitable for the iPhone, BlackBerry or Android will feel deceived. Such versions will not be produced mainly thanks to technical or licence problems.
