Apple announces press conference about iPhone
On Friday July 16th at 5 PM (GMT), Apple will give a press conference concerning the new iPhone. Alltough the company does not give further information, we can assume that Apple will address reception glitches on the iPhone 4.
Apple is under heavy fire due to what has been called a design flaw in the iPhone 4. By simply holding the phone, signal can decrease quickly. Until now, Apple denies the problem. The last few days show both hardware and software developments that may give a clue about Apple's message at the press conference.
New Firmware
Apple still says that there are no hardware issues. All reported problems are software related, the company claims. According to the Cupertino-based firm, the number of bars that should indicate signal strength have always been displayed wrong due to a bug in an function.

We installed the last beta release of iOS, iPhone's operating system. As you can see, the bars are indeed displayed differently. The first bar is larger than before, while reception is lower.
Better hardware?
Rumours that iPhones that are being produced at this moment have a coated antenna, are surfacing on the internet. This could fix the reception glitches. Using a multimeter, it can be checked whether Apple changed the production process, says Phone Arena.
