Nothing announces event for March 23; possibly for Nothing Phone
Nothing, the company of the co-founder of OnePlus, has posted a countdown clock on its website. It expires March 23 at 14 GMT. We may then see the first phone from the relatively young company.
At the moment, Nothing has only announced only 1 product; called "ear (1)". A set of true wireless earbuds with a striking transparent housing and with an affordable price. Rumour has it that Nothing is also working on its own mobile phone. This was reportedly demonstrated to partners last MWC. A picture of it was published by Evan Blass
The fact that the device is being demonstrated to Qualcomm's CEO seems the confirmation that a Snapdragon processor will be used inside. The Nothing website also features the Snapdragon logo so that prediction is easy to make. It is still unknown how the Nothing Phone will distinguish itself. We reckon a transparent casing won't be enough.
Founder Carl Pei
The Chinese-Swedish Carl Pei founded Nothing after he left OnePlus. He founded that company in 2013 together with Pete Lau. Nothing recently raised many millions from investors, more than enough to develop its very own smartphone. Whether that will actually be launched on March 23 remains to be seen.
