Samsung goes all out to get Exynos 2600 chip in Galaxy S26
Samsung failed to get its Exynos 2500 chip ready in time for the Galaxy S25 series. As a result, Samsung had to switch to chips from its competitor. Samsung wants to avoid this with the S26 Series. It is now going all out to avoid having to buy from Qualcomm again.
A processor is a relatively expensive component in a smartphone. So it helps save money if you can make it yourself and not have to buy it elsewhere. Something Samsung was forced to do for the S25, S25+ and to a lesser extent for the S25 Ultra. For the S26, Samsung would prefer to use the Exynos 2600, and it wants to do a lot for that.

According to FN News, Samsung has created a special task force to ensure that all problems with the Exynos 2600 are resolved in a timely manner. This processor uses Samsung 2nm process (SF2). Main problem this task force has to solve is the yield.
Low yield
Chips are baked and then after an inspection some are found to contain (too many) errors. These chips are rebranded or discarded. With the Exynos 2500, Samsung also suffered from low yields, altho the yield of the Exynos 2600 seems to be "significantly" better.
The yield of Exynos 2600 ... is significantly higher than the previous generation, the Exynos 2500
Should Samsung fail to fix the problems with the Exynos 2600 in time, it can always revert to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. But as Samsung is concerned, it does not want to. We will know if the problems are solved in may, when production of the first prototypes will start.
