HTC is making renewed Touch Cruise with Footprints official
HTC has announced the renewed Touch Cruise last Thursday. The Touch Cruise 09 is aiming at its built-in GPS receiver and to offer "a richer and more intuitive user experience with a comprehensive navigation".
We have seen this device before, but at that time we still called the device by its code name Iolite. All the features that were discussed before seem to be true, but now we can also explain what the footstep button means.

The new HTC Touch Cruise ‘09 is equipped with what HTC is calling 'footprints'. HTC is explaining the footprints; "an application with which a digital post card of the surroundings can be created with only one touch. HTC Footprints automatically adds the name of the location to the post card. Users can save images of their favorite restaurant or special location while being on the road. Also, texts and sounds can be added to the image file to make the memory even more vital." So, a comprehensive way of geotagging. Altough we cannot call it that according to HTC, because HTC Footprins is also working excellent outdoors, mainly thanks to the A-GPS functionality.
TomTom Maps
But the HTC Touch Cruise ‘09 is out-of-the-box also a full navigation system. The device is deliverd with TomTom Benelux and an auto charger and holder. If the Touch Cruise ‘09 is placed in the holder it automatically switches to auto-mode and the user friendly 'one touch interface'.
The new HTC Touch Cruise ‘09 is getting available the second quarter of this year. The device is going to cost around 449 euro (575 dollar, 420 pounds). See all the features of the special Touch Cruise ‘09 on the device page.
