Samsung Galaxy A53 5G product details
The Galaxy A53 5G promises to be one of Samsung's best-selling phones for 2022. In addition to 5G, the device features an awesome camera, screen, and battery life. But those are mostly Samsung's own words. Time for our findings in our own words.
Gorgeous picture for less money
Somehow we have to hand it to Samsung; a lot about the device is excellent. The A53 uses a Super AMOLED panel, known for its colorful images with deep blacks. The Full HD + resolution ensures sharp images, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes animations look fast and smooth. At the top is a small hole for the selfie camera. How Samsung put a 32MP camera in there is still a mystery. All in all, a high-end screen but with slightly thicker bezels than you see on the absolute flagships. But then those are also easily twice as expensive.

Revised design
Regarding camera design, the A53 5G does not immediately look better than its predecessor, the A52s 5G. A 64MP primary camera with f/1.8 lens, 12MP ultra wide-angle, 5MP depth camera, and another 5MP but this time for macro photography. A separate zoom camera is therefore missing, and, as far as we are concerned, that remains a miss. Neat is that the camera is equipped with optical image stabilization, also known as OIS. This allows you to shoot sharper images, especially at dusk. It will also make your videos smoother. The camera module looks a little different this year and rises, as it were, from the back. We think it looks nice in any case. Samsung rounds out the camera with numerous additional features. For example, AI Image Enhancer improves photos of food, and with the Fun mode, you can add stickers or effects to selfies.

Years of software support
Inside the Galaxy A53 5G, Samsung applies a battery thick enough for two days of use. There is support for fast charging (up to 25 watts) but only wired. Wireless charging is unfortunately not available (yet). The front is sturdy and scratch-free Gorilla Glass 5, and the whole is IP67 water and dust-resistant. Samsung made the power button and SIM slot out of recycled plastic. It's not much to spare the environment, but it's something. Speaking about environmentally friendly, a charger is also missing. Samsung promises years of updates for the A53, which is good news for its useful life. So you get four years of Android and One UI updates and five years of security updates. So Samsung is doing everything possible to make it last as long as possible, now you have to be careful with it.
