Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite product details
The Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite is an inexpensive phone for starters with a large battery and triple camera. The battery measures a large 5000 mAh which is enough to last 3 days. The Triple Camera consists of a primary, ultra-wide-angle and macro camera. But what else can it do?
Name is unfortunate
We keep repeating it; we always find the name 'Lite' somewhat unfortunate. And the addition of 'Power' only makes it more confusing. Because is it powerful or is it a lightweight? It's up to us to explain it properly. The name Power is a reference to the built-in MediaTek helio P35 processor. Although it is a processor consisting of eight cores, it is not a very powerful chip. And with that, Motorola immediately undermines its own marketing story. Because why 'powerful'? Of course everything is relative and you don't pay a lot for the G8 Power Lite, but call it G8 Lite.

Long battery life
What the Moto G8 Power Lite does have is a very large battery. It's 5000 mAh big enough for at least 2 days of use, and in some cases you'll even get 3 days with it. Motorola itself keeps it at 100 hours listening to music or watching movies for 19 hours. You can also use that time to take pictures. On the back of the G8 Power Lite are no less than 3 different cameras; a 16MP main camera, a macro camera and a depth camera. An ultra-wide-angle camera or zoom is missing. However, you can shoot from very close range, from as much as 2.5 centimeters. Flowers or insects can therefore be sharply defined. With the depth camera you can blur backgrounds, ideal for portrait photography.
Main Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite specifications
- 6.5 inch Max Vision HD+ screen with notch for selfie camera
- Triple 16MP Camera with depth camera and macro lens for extreme close-ups
- 2,3GHz octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM memory
- 64GB of storage, expandable up to 256GB
- Fingerprint scanner on the back of the water-repellent housing
Max Vision HD+ screen
The Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite also features a spacious 6.5-inch screen with a notch at the top for the selfie camera. The resolution is HD+ which is sharp enough for everyday use, but not razor sharp either. The storage memory is only 64GB which is quickly too little. Fortunately, you can add a memory card of up to 256 GB. These microSD cards are available separately. Finally, on the back of the G* Power Lite we find a fingerprint scanner for some extra security and convenience. The casing has been given a water-repellent coating that's not the same as waterproof, but it does offer some form of protection.
