Google Nexus 5 product details

Google announced the Google Nexus 5 along with Android 4.4 KitKat. Made by LG, the device features a beautifully compact 5-inch Full HD display with all the trimmings.

Pure Android experience

The Nexus 5's biggest selling point is its unadulterated pure Android experience. It's the first to run Android 4.4 KitKat with features like Hangout, the Photo Sphere feature in the camera app and an all-new launcher. And the beauty of the Nexus 5 is that Android updates are virtually the first to come out for the device. So you almost certainly always have the latest Android version. Now there is even Android 5.0 Lollipop which makes the device feel like new again.

Powerful specs, affordable price

On the back of the Nexus 5 we find a modest 8 megapixel camera. We say modest, but thanks to the built-in optical image stabilization, it has enough power to take sharp pictures every time. The applied processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 800, is also powerful enough to guarantee a smooth user experience. And all this in a phone that is hundreds of euros cheaper than comparable flagships.

Big yet compact screen

Where other manufacturers mainly go for larger screens, Google opts for a fairly modest 4.95-inch display. This results in a fairly compact-looking smartphone. Perfect for every pocket and big enough for every hand. And the applied Full HD resolution delivers a pixel rich screen with sharp images without glare and with a wide viewing angle. Finally, this gem is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 from Corning that we know for its scratch-free panels.

A few weeks ago, Google's new and long-awaited Nexus phone was presented. As with the Nexus 4, Google has once again engaged LG to manufacture the device. The Korean manufacturer has equipped the camera with, among other things, a 4.95 inch IPS display with Full HD resolution, a Snapdragon 800 processor and an 8.0 megapixel camera. And because it's a Nexus phone, it was the first phone to feature Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest version of the operating system. With this package, the Nexus 5 should be able to stand out from its predecessor and take on flagships such as the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 a…
