BlackBerry shows more of new OS

RIM shows off some screenshots of the its new operating system,BlackBerry 6, on the BlackBerry blog. The first phone that comes with the new OS will probably be launched on August 3rd.

BlackBarry enters the battle against Apple, Android and Microsoft with a new homescreen, that has some features that were borrowed from Android and iPhone. One of these is the option to add any action to the homescreen, another the possibility to search through your phone and the internet in one search box.

Homescreen design

The developers of the new system separated the homescreen in five parts: frequent, favourites, media, downloads and all. The current homescreen is similar to the all-category. Frequent gives an automated overview of the most used apps. Favourites are user-configurable. Media and downloads display, as the name suggests, media and downloads.
