Nokia offers clean-up tool for Symbian 'virus'
Nokia has produced a clean-up tool for everyone who got hit by the so-called "Curse Of Silence" virus. Well, 'virus'...it is actually an exploit.
And besides that the chance of being hit by this virus is really small, the making of a so-called "Curse Of Silence' text message is pretty easy. When you own a Nokia Symbian S60 smartphone than basically everyone who knows this fact is a threat.
It is more than a month ago that the exploit got public available, but Nokia didn't do nothing since then. But it did take a long time. And this has given Nokia a lot of criticism. After the announcement of the leak Nokia asked operations to filter the "Curse of Silence" text message. It is questionable whether the operators are doing this.
So ok, the company is offering a clean-up tool that repairs the phones that were hit by the virus. But, how do you know if you are hit?
