OnePlus Watch 3 is new smartwatch with 5 days of battery life
OnePlus has announced the Watch 3. The screen of this new smartwatch is brighter and the battery life this time is 5 days. It is still a rather large watch with dual operating system.
The OnePlus Watch 3 has a slightly larger 1.5-inch screen but can be significantly brighter with a maximum peak brightness of 2200 nits versus 600 nits on the Watch 2. This makes the screen more readable outdoors.
Still, the watch features two processors and two operating systems. A Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 for Google Wear OS 5 and the BES2800BP for a proprietary RTOS. Handling labor-intensive tasks by Wear OS and periods of inactivity by the RTOS, the OnePlus Watch 3 manages to achieve a battery life of 5 days. In power-saving mode, OnePlus even promises 16 days.
Now with swivel crown
Most people are more likely to end up at 3 days. This is also the indication OnePlus gives for when the watch is heavily used. Even that is impressive considering that other smartwatches of this size need to be charged every day.
There are more differences. For example, the crown is rotatable this time and there is more accurate positioning. The watch comes to market in Emerald Titanium and Obsidian Titanium colors. Both feature a 22 mm self-exchangeable strap and are suitable for wrist sizes between 140 and 210 mm. The starting price is €349 but early deciders will receive a temporary €50 discount.
