Oppo and OnePlus working on 8,000 mAh large phone battery
5000mAh was the upper limit of phone batteries for a long time. But with the advent of Silicon-Carbon batteries, we are now seeing 6000 and even 7000mAh large batteries in phones. Oppo and OnePlus want to stretch that limit even further and are now working on an 8000mAh battery.
The beauty of Silicon-Carbon (Si-C) batteries is that they have a higher energy density than the Lithium Ion batteries we see in phones today. You can already find Si-C batteries in phones like the Oppo Find X8 Pro and the OnePlus 13. Those are 5910 and 6000 mAh in size, respectively.

Despite the fact that sister company OnePlus has been working with Redmi on a 7,000 mAh phone battery since the mid-2024s, it doesn't stop there. Oppo and OnePlus have started developing an even larger 8000 mAh phone battery. Whether it will be released alongside or replace the 7000 mAh version is still unknown.
80W fast charging
According to insider Digital Chat Station, the 8000 mAh large battery can be charged with about 80W and contains at least 15% of silicon in the anode. This would increase its lifespan. The battery is said to have already been tested by Ouga Lab, although a quick search on that name yields little.

So we recommend caution with assumptions, especially since no phones with such large batteries have been announced yet. That may also take some time as it is not until the second half of 2025 that phones from Oppo and OnePlus are expected to have batteries between 6000 and 7000 mAh.
