First renders of slim Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim arrive
Samsung will announce its new Galaxy S25 series on January 22. Like previous years, it consists of the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra but there is another model to come. Perhaps it will not be announced on January 22, but later. We are talking about the S25 Slim of which you can now see the first images.
These are renders from @onleaks. This is good and bad news. The good news is that more often than not, this leaker is wrong. So this is 99% sure to be the Galaxy S25 Slim. The bad news is that the device is probably still a while away. Otherwise, we would have seen them (much) earlier.

But there is more bad news; the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will not be the thinnest Galaxy phone ever. That honor continues to go to the Galaxy A8 at 5.9 mm. The "Slim" comes out at 6.4 mm. That's not even a whole millimeter less than the regular S25. So is this worth releasing?
Is this really smart of Samsung?
Unfortunately, we can't sugarcoat it. Even including the thickness of the cameras, the S25 Slim is thicker than the S25 Ultra is without cameras.

So the term "Slim" is relative here. Especially when you consider that the screen is between 6.7 and 6.8 inches in size. So the same size as the S24+ or S24 Ultra. Samsung seems to have mainly opted for a thinner battery. This measures between 4000 and 4900 mAh, it is expected.

Judging from the images, Samsung has not skimped on the number of cameras. We can see three on the back. It even found room for a zoom camera with periscope lens. More we would like to see during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, perhaps in the form of a "One More Thing." But the actual launch may not take place until May of 2025.
An even thinner iPhone 17 Air
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim does not stand alone. Apple is also working on an ultra-thin iPhone that may be launched as the iPhone 17 Air. Rumors about it say it will be 5.5 millimeters thin. Almost another millimeter thinner than Samsung's attempt. And with that, the win seems to go to Apple in this race of crushing for now.
