Xiaomi Redmi 9T product details
The Xiaomi Redmi 9T is a colorful smartphone with quad camera, large battery and with decent performance. And for the sake of convenience, we'll forget that it's also pretty inexpensive to buy. But is it a bargain? Let's find out here.
Sharp screen but low brightness
You should consider the Redmi 9T mainly because of its price. That is because it is very low. Yet you get quite a lot in return. Starting with the screen. That measures a spacious 6.53 inches. What is special is the sharpness of it. The Full HD+ resolution ensures sharp images and looks much sharper than an HD+ screen that many competitors in this price category offer. The disadvantage is that the screen cannot be very bright. This can cause problems in full sunlight. The selfie camera is located in a notch at the top of the screen and is hardly noticeable.

Not sensitive to fingerprints
What also doesn't stand out are fingerprints. They hardly have any grip on the casing thanks to the special finish. That special texture gives it not only a beautiful appearance. An appearance that is also available in many colors and also has a water resistant coating. For an affordable smartphone, the Redmi 9T has a lot of cameras. On the back, we find no less than 4: a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide-angle, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera. Forget those last 2; you won't find much use for them in practice but the 48MP main camera and the 8MP ultra wide-angle camera are useful. For sharp shots and for group portraits for example.
Main Xiaomi Redmi 9T specifications
- 6.53-inch Dot Drop-Display with FHD+ resolution
- 48MP Quad camera with ultra-wide-angle, macro and depth camera
- 8MP selfie camera with Full HD video
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor running at up to 2GHz
- Available in 64GB or 128GB of storage (expandable up to 512GB)
- Dual SIM capability (slot not shared with memory card)
- 4G support for high speed mobile internet
- Waterproof coating (so not completely waterproof)
Large battery with fast charging
In terms of performance, it is counted on a Snapdragon 662 from Qualcomm. That is a capable midrange model with otherwise fine performance. There are variants with 4 and 6GB of RAM memory and up to 128GB of storage memory (4+64GB, 4+64GB and 6+128GB). If you change your mind later and want more memory, you can always add a memory card up to 512GB. This is not at the expense of the 2nd SIM card slot; there is room for all three. The battery is above average at 6000 mAh. Neatly, it can be charged quickly with 18W. Incidentally, do not confuse this Redmi 9T with the Redmi Note 9T. The latter does have less of a camera on the back, but on the other hand, it is 5G capable. Something that "our 9T" is not.
