Because it is not a speed monster but rather economical that results in a long battery life for you. Although Sony prefers to use the word "durable". This is also underlined by the nonuse of plastic in the packaging and the omission of a charger. Even a cable is missing. And by making the casing waterproof, it lasts longer. At least, that is the intention.

Features Sony's camera technologies

On the camera front, Sony has adopted a triple-lensed system at the back. The primary camera features a 27mm wide-angle lens and 12MP large Xperia R sensor. The automatic mode of this is especially useful. Thanks to its speed, it is capable of shooting a suitable picture in almost any tricky situation.
