The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) Duos is the Dual SIM version of the A8 2018 but otherwise they are the same. This A8 2018 Duos is part of Samsung's Galaxy A series that traditionally consists of premium phones at an affordable price. Whether our A8 Duos meets these requirements we will have to investigate and that is exactly what we are going to do here.
Perhaps the first thing that stands out about the 2018 edition of the A8 Duos is its display. It covers pretty much the entire front. Samsung calls it an Infinity Display for good reason. With 5.6 inches it is spacious enough to comfortably watch videos, but not so big that it sits uncomfortably in your pocket. Fortunately, Samsung does not take a notch; an ugly bite out of the screen to place the selfie camera in it. If they would have done so, they would have needed a lot of space because the device has two cameras. That is a great distinguishing feature of him. This Dual Front Camera has a camera with a more regular lens and one with a wide angle lens of 85 degrees. Now we have to admit that we have seen wider but it should be just enough to capture more than just yourself. And because he can see depth with the 2nd camera, there is also a portrait function with which you can blur the background.
The large borderless screen is not the only thing that makes the A8 (2018) Duos look like a premium phone, the smooth design is also to blame. The frame is made of rounded metal with Gorilla Glass on the front and back. On the back we find the 16 megapixel main camera above the fingerprint scanner. The lens has a maximum aperture of f/1.7 which seems promising for clear night shots without flash. It is a pity it doesn't work on 4K video. So you will have to do it with the slightly lower Full HD resolution. Filming in the shower, if you like, is possible thanks to the dust and water resistant IP68 housing. Samsung further equips the Galaxy A8 (2018) Duos with its own Bixby search assistant. We are especially familiar with the more expensive Galaxy S models, and honestly don't expect too much from them, because the Google Assistant works much better. Or you can download a better assistant from the Play Store. There's plenty of space because when the storage memory is full, you can easily add extra memory. The device swallows cards up to 400 GB, more than enough for all your photos, videos and documents. What you can of course also place a 2nd SIM card, the name Duos says it all. Contrary to some other dual sim phones, you can place a 2nd sim card and memory card simultaneously. So the slot is not shared.
To make sure your device feels nice and fast, Samsung has installed an octacore processor. This chipset consists of eight cores, of which four run at a maximum of 2.2 GHz and the other four at 1.6 GHz. This dichotomy is because one half is extremely fast and powerful and the other half is a bit less but more energy efficient. An excellent absent because you have extra power when you need it and you save battery when your phone is in your pocket or bag. The Samsung Galaxy A8 2018 Duos is equipped with 4 GB of RAM memory, which is very neat for a mid-range phone. This gives you enough memory to switch apps smoothly and without having to wait. Is there nothing to be noticed on the device at all? Yes it is and that's its price. The price is quite high compared to some competitors. You could even consider a flagship from a year ago and still be more advantageous. You have to search a bit but we still have a website for that!
