The best translation of refurbished is "refreshed" but by now the term "refurbished" itself has become sufficiently established to be recognized. Often, refurbished is seen as secondhand but this is different. Refurbished products have to meet strict conditions. Which ones exactly we will explain below.
What is refurbished?
Refurbished phones are used phones that are then given a new life. It is checked, it is cleaned, data is erased and if necessary minor repairs are made. A new battery, for example. This way, the product can last again. Not only are refurbished products better for the environment, they also save you a lot of money. After all, new phones are expensive, especially the latest flagships.
One refurbished phone is not the other. For example, a phone that has been in a case will look better. To distinguish between the differences in signs of use, there are three different classes;
- Class A: As good as new
- Class B: Slightly used
- Class C: Visibly used
Here, the better the refurbished product looks, the higher the price. Where we have this information we show it and you can filter by it. For all other cases, we refer to them as refurbished.
Certified Refurbished
Providers of refurbished products can carry the Refurbished Quality Mark. Because of this, you as a consumer know that you are buying a solid product of high quality. Products are checked on 50 points and you have 2 years warranty, also on the battery. The quality mark was created by Techniek Nederland and the checks are performed by TÜV Netherlands. Companies using the hallmark are;
- Fixje
- Renewd
- Leapp
- Forza
- iUsed
- Swoop
Other secondhand
Online stores also often sell non-new products but under a different name. Think of products that have been returned. Perhaps the product did not meet expectations or was the wrong color. Every store gives this a different name. Think 'outlet' or 'second chance' as Coolblue does. We display all these items with their own accompanying text such as 'opened packaging', 'used' or 'second chance'. All these products can be found below.
