The OnePlus Nord 2T is a 5G phone and the successor to the famous Nord 2. However, there are not very many differences. And that's why we'll look at what changes there are and whether it is worth the switch.
The main differences between this Nord 2T 5G and the Nord 2 5G are the newer processor and faster charging. Whether that's enough to make you want to switch is up to you, we think it's somewhat minimal. But if you are coming from a previous Nord or want a new mobile, then it is an entirely different story. Then OnePlus offers a complete phone with excellent software for a friendly price. How about a spacious yet manageable 6.43-inch display? OnePlus applies a colorful AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support and a smooth 90Hz display. OnePlus fails to specify how bright the screen is, which leads us to suspect that it's not very bright. Independent tests come out to between 650 and 750 nits. Extremely bright isn't that, but it's not below average either.
On the back, OnePlus seems to have used two cameras, but appearances can be deceiving. Despite the two large black cutouts, there are three cameras. The top hole is for the 50MP main camera. This features a Sony IMX766 sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical image stabilization (OIS). In other words, a great performing camera, both in light and dark, with plenty of sharpness and detail. Other cameras include an 8MP ultra-wide-angle and a 2MP mono lens. The latter only shoots images in black and white. The advantage of a separate mono lens is that it is usually sharper. But because of the low resolution, we recommend you shoot pictures with the primary camera and apply a black and white filter. In addition, the HDR video mode helps capture backlit videos.
OnePlus has placed a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 inside the Nord 2T. This processor not only handles the 5G signals but also launches apps quickly and makes the device responsive. Versions are available with 8 and 12GB of RAM. Here the rule applies; the more, the smoother the device will feel during intensive use. Storage memory ranges from 128 to 256GB and is not expandable. The battery of 4500mAh is split into two parts, and therefore OnePlus is capable of higher charging speeds. As much as 80W. For a mid-range phone, that's above average. OnePlus promises that 15 minutes of charging is enough for a whole day of use. What the device is still not is waterproof. There is no official IP rating, so you have to be careful around water.
