The Motorola Moto G8 Power is a large smartphone with a large battery. So large even that it lasts for 3 days. But also its camera setup looks very promising. With this it seems to become a real all-rounder. But is it enough?
The plastic Moto G8 Power seems to be the ideal phone for those looking for a phone with long battery life. The 5000 mAh battery is big enough for several days and can also be charged quickly with 15 Watt. Motorola keeps it on 3 days but that seems a bit too optimistic. Although with some caution you will certainly make it to the 2. Also neat about the G8 Power is that the 6.4 inch Max Vision display has a sharp Full HD+ resolution. Maybe you already noticed, but in the top left corner of that screen is a small hole. That is for the 16MP selfie camera. Yet it hardly stands out during use and almost disappears in the status bar.
The Moto G8 Power has four cameras on the back; a 16MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 118° lens, an 8MP camera with 2x zoom and a 2MP macro camera. Especially that camera with telephoto lens is not often seen in this price category. It brings images 2x closer without compromising image quality. This is because zooming is used with a lens in contrast to digital zooming where pixels are blown up. Video can be shot in up to 4K and photos can be saved in RAW format. Handy if you have a photo editing program on your computer at home. Something we see especially with more expensive flagships. This gives you more possibilities to save photos in RAW format.
Motorola uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with 4GB of RAM memory and 64GB of storage. That's a combination we see more often and often enough for excellent performance. Still, as is often the case in this price category, you can expect some shocks and stutter. Somewhere this is weird because the G8 Power uses a reasonably clean Android installation without a lot of bloatware. So, do we have anything worth mentioning? Yes certainly! You will find stereo speakers with Dolby sound. That makes a G8 Power an all-round multimedia phone.
