Motorola Moto G Pro product details
The Motorola Moto G Pro is a smartphone from the popular Moto G series with a built-in stylus. It is also a phone with a triple 48MP camera on the back, one with a battery life of 2 days and running Android One with all the benefits that come with it. But is it powerful? And are all those cameras really necessary? Is it worth the money? Let's find out here.
Built-in stylus with corresponding apps
When you think of phones with a built-in stylus, you think of the Galaxy Note from Samsung. High-end phones but quite expensive. This Moto G Pro is not. Or at least, it is a lot cheaper. For a fraction of the price you get a phone with a built-in stylus. You can use this stylus to operate the phone, so to replace a finger, but you can also make notes or sketch with it. When you slide the stylus out of the Moto G Pro, you'll be treated to a menu where you can quickly open apps that can be used with the stylus. It's handy if the software thinks with you a bit. The stylus is not smart like Samsung's S Pen, so it cannot be used as a remote control.

Camera with action cam
On the back, the Moto G Pro features a triple camera system consisting of a 48MP main camera with Quad Pixel technology, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 117° angle of view, and a 2MP Macro Vision camera for close-ups of at least 2cm close. The fourth and lower hole is for the laser autofocus for fast and accurate focusing. You can shoot video in up to Full HD (1080p) and there are several camera functions available, such as a portrait mode, smile recognition, live filters and saving in RAW format. It is remarkable that you can only use the ultra wide-angle camera for video. With this actioncam you can even shoot upright videos in 21:9 because the G Pro cuts off a part of your image.

Decent performance
Under the skin, the Moto G Pro uses a mid-range Snapdragon 665 processor. Combined with 4GB of RAM memory and the bare but therefore fast Android One, this ensures decent and acceptable performance. An additional advantage of Android One is that you get regular updates for years after you bought it. The storage memory is a neat 128GB and is expandable by up to 512GB. The battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh, which seems average on paper, but in practice gives an above-average battery life. You can get through the day with it. Charging is done with up to 15W which is fast but not super fast. Finally, it is reassuring to know that the casing is water resistant. Small accidents do not mean the end of the story.
