Not every phone needs to be extensive, sometimes you just want to be reachable. Especially for older people, we have put together a list of easy-to-use phones. An additional advantage is that they are not expensive and last a long time with the battery. Most of these phones are sold separately and therefore not in combination with a subscription. This is because they are mainly meant to be reachable and seldom to call. Those who do want a subscription always want to buy a copy and take out a simonly subscription.
Makers of senior phones
There are manufacturers who make phones especially for this market. The big advantage of these phones is that, in addition to being simple and long battery life, they also have special functions that are especially aimed at seniors. Think of an alarm button, have extra large buttons and/or are suitable for hearing aids. Sometimes they also come with a handy stand for charging. Models of the brands below are also ideal to give as gifts to grandparents.
Alarm button
Having a phone can make you feel extra safe, both for the owner and for family members. Especially when that phone has a separate alarm button. Such a help button or assistance button is usually located at the back and is red in colour. Its operation is the same on most phones. Hold the button down for a while and a preset contact will be called. Think of a family member or someone in the care. Some models can also be set to send a text message to a list of contacts.
Hearing aid
Virtually most senior phones are suitable for hearing aid wearers. These devices have an HAC mode in which the sound is adjusted. This is currently not a feature we mention so it is preferable to check with the manufacturer beforehand whether your hearing aid is suitable.
