On September 12th, the new 6th Apple iPhone was announced, reportedly the last one to which the late Steve Jobs worked. Already on September 28th the device was in store in the Netherlands. However, Fanboys picked up the device a week earlier in Germany. Partly due to the large stream of Dutch people this led in some cases to chaotic scenes.

The Apple iPhone 5 is an iconic smartphone. Not only because it bears the iPhone name, but also because it was the last iPhone that former top executive Steve Jobs participated in. The iPhone 5 is by definition one for the history books.
The iPhone 5 looks similar to its predecessor but there is one huge difference: the screen size. Did Apple stick to 3.5 inches for years this iPhone 5 features a 4-inch display for the first time. This is the first time Apple is tinkering with the screen size of its iPhone. The larger screen results in an extra row of app icons on the home page, and yet everything can still be operated with one hand.
The Apple iPhone 5 is also Apple's first iPhone with 4G support. Note that this is still a limited number of supported bands. So find out in advance if your operator can handle the 4G of the iPhone 5 otherwise it will still be of no use to you. In general, 4G from T-Mobile and Vodafone can handle the 1800 MHz band of the iPhone 5 and KPN cannot. The latter only uses the 1800 MHz frequency in crowded areas such as cities.
Apple certainly didn't skip the camera with the iPhone 5. While it counts the same amount of megapixels, namely 8, there are plenty of new things added. First of all, the BSI (Backside Illumination). Here, the sensor is built differently with much more light falling on it than traditional sensors. This allows the iPhone 5 to shoot much better photos in dark conditions. Furthermore, the lens consists of five elements and is protected by high-strength sapphire. All technical feats that ensure that the Apple iPhone 5 can shoot extremely good pictures.
Apple further equips the iPhone 5 with a powerful A6 processor. They make this one themselves at Apple and it is a whopping 2 times faster than its predecessor. It is also 2 times faster in terms of graphics. This is especially noticeable when playing games. Also a big difference at the bottom of the iPhone. There we find the Lightning adapter for the first time. Gone is the old and wide 30-pin adapter. The advantage of the Lightning cord is that it is smaller and it doesn't matter how you plug it in.
