Once again, Samsung failed to keep the next Galaxy S series a secret until its launch. The specifications of the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra appeared on the Internet. Not only that, but we also seem to have confirmation of when the series will be announced.
The image below appeared on @evleaks' timeline. We made a copy before Samsung issued a takedown notice—something they have done before in cases like this.
The flagship of the S24 series is, of course, the S24 Ultra. According to the image above, its main features are:
Moving on to the S24+ that Samsung traditionally places between the S24 Ultra and S24. Its main specifications are:
And finally, the entry-level model of the S24 series, the Galaxy S24. This is likely to be the best-selling model. Thanks in part to its price, which trio will be the lowest.
Striking specifications
What stands out from the list of specifications is that all models in the series have a maximum peak brightness of 2600 nits. We tend to believe Samsung is using the same screen technology, resolution aside. In addition, it is a bonus to learn that the S24+ starts with 12GB of RAM. Last year, that was 8GB. The entry-level S24 still sticks to that amount.
It should also be noted that the spec sheet mentions only the U.S. models. That is because of the mention of "Snapdragon 8 Gen 3". That processor will only be used in the U.S. and parts of Asia. The series will hit the market in Europe with the Samsung Exynos 2400. Both should not differ in performance, but whether that is the case should be seen in practice.
Another announcement date?
Until now, we have mentioned January 17 as a possible launch date, and we have news about that today, too. Because another post from @evleaks shows what appears to be the invitation. "Galaxy Unpacked," it reads, will take place on Wednesday, January 18 at 03:00 AM Korea Standard Time.
That doesn't mean we were a day off because it converted to Tuesday, Jan. 17, 7 PM Dutch time. So it looks like we had it right all along. Whether Samsung can keep anything secret before this time seems out of the question. The floodgates appear to be open.
