Xiaomi has mentioned a new launch date for the Xiaomi 13. Initially, the new flagship was supposed to be released on Dec. 1, but that date was skipped out of respect following the death of China's former president Jiang Zemin. The unveiling is now scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022.
Xiaomi has started mentioning this date in some of its apps. An official invitation is yet to come at the time of writing. The Chinese company seems keen for the unveiling to take place soon. After all, it is sitting on quite a few new products.
For example, we are expecting the Xiaomi 13 smartphone, the MIUI 14 platform, and the Xiaomi Watch S2 smartwatch to come out. But it presumably won't stop there as there are reports of new wireless earbuds and a desktop computer.
Xiaomi 13 specifications
Our attention on Sunday is mainly focused on the Xiaomi 13. This new smartphone will feature Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and is rumored to charge extra fast at 100 Watts. The launch will also kick off MIUI 14, based on Android 13. The Mi 13 is expected to be available in mainland China first, while a global version is expected sometime later.
