Nokia announces the Nokia N97; a large 3.5 inch touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, 3.5G, 32 GB memory. The new flagship of Nokia should be available in stores the first half of 2009.
Nokia announces the N97; worlds most advanced mobile computer, that connects users in a totally new way with Internet and with each other. The Nokia N97 is designed for Internet-adepten and combines a large 3.5-inch touchscreen with a full QWERTY keyboard. The device offers a permanent access to Internet and social-network sites. The new flagship of the Nokia Nseries is equipped with a boundary crossing technology, like multiple sensors, a bigger memory, more absorbing power and quicker connection techniques, so that users can arrange their own internet surrounding and can share 'social locations'

"In combination with the new Ovi-services the Nokia N97 is serving the wishes of the world around us, and is keeping us in contact with people, supplies and information that mean the most. With the Nokia N97 the Nseries is changing the internet from THE internet to MY internet."
Automatic ‘So-Lo’-recognition
The Nokia N97 introduces the term 'So-Lo', or Social Location. The system has built-in A-GPS sensors and an electric compas so it can always locate its position. Social networks can be updated automatically with up-to-date information and approved contacts can update their 'status' and can exchange their social location, like pictures or videos.
Broadband-Internet and entertainment
The display of the Nokia N97 mobile computer has contacts, content and media that is available for the users all the time. Friends, social networks and newsfacts can be found with a simple touch. The 16:9 broadband display can be personalized with frequent actualized widgets of favorite websites and social network sites. The Nokia N97 is also ideal for browsing on the internet, to streame Flash-videos or to play games. Dubble input methods - QWERTY and the touching of a display - are perfect for efficient bloggen, chatten, SMS'en and mailen.
The Nokia N97 supports up till 48 GB memory, with 32 GB built-in memory that can be extended with a 16 GB microSD memory card for music, media and other data. This is also complemented with excellent music functions, full support for the Nokia Music Store and continuous play time till 1,5 day. The Nokia N97 also has a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, 16:9 video in DVD quality and support for services like Share on Ovi through quick HSDPA and WLAN connections, for direct exchange.
The Nokia N97 will be in stores the first half of 2009 and will cost around 550 euro ex BTW and subsidies.
