Oppo announced two new foldables during INNO DAY 2022. The Find N2 opens horizontally like a book, while the Find N2 Flip opens vertically. Both phones will first be sold in China but should eventually be released elsewhere.
This is already the second generation of foldables from Oppo. The Find N2 succeeds the Find N from 2021. It is a horizontally opening foldable, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Except that the Find N2 is less tall and therefore more compact.
colors.
Compact or not, inside, we still find a 7.1-inch large display. It has a resolution of 1920 by 1792 pixels, giving it a relatively square ratio of 15:14. Outside on the Find N2 Oppo fitted a 5.54-inch screen with an FHD+ resolution. Both screens have a maximum screen refresh rate of 120Hz, but only the inner screen can turn that down to 1Hz.
Oppo Find N2
Due to its slightly smaller footprint, the Oppo Find N2 weighs 233 grams (leather version), making it lighter than the 263-gram Samsung Fold 4. On the other hand, the Oppo is not waterproof. Also, it cannot be operated with a stylus. However, the screen crease is less visible, and battery charging goes much faster.
Oppo Find N2 Flip
New to Oppo's foldable offering is the Find N2 Flip. This vertically opening phone looks like the direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. Immediately noticeable is that the outer screen of the N2 Flip is much more significant: 3.26 inches versus 1.1 inches of the Samsung.
One difference between Oppo's two foldables is the built-in processor. For the Find N2, Oppo uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 from Qualcomm, while in the Find N2 Flip is a Dimensity 9000+ from MediaTek.
Worldwide launch Find N2 series
While the Oppo Find N was never released outside of China, this Find N2 series is expected to be sold elsewhere. It is planned to do so sometime in early 2023. If you want to own one right now, you will have to visit China. There, both phones are available immediately. The exact prices are not yet known.
