Rumours that Facebook would come with its own mobile phone have been going on for some time. According to some insiders, Facebook is working on a mobile phone withINQ Mobile. That company doesn't make smartphones, but feature phones, optimized for social media. A Facebook-branded feature phone can be cheaper than Android, Windows or iOS smartphones.
Improved applications
Talks that Facebook is about to launch its own phone, are only rumours. According to some speculators, the company will come with an update of its apps for Android and iPhone. That sounds more plausible to us, but wouldn't explain why Facebook is inviting the press for an event at its HQ. Updates for Facebook apps are a recurring event, that isn't much of an event in most cases.
