POCO announces the C65 and markets it for relatively little money. It is a smartphone with a smooth 90Hz screen, a 50MP camera, and quite a lot of memory.
In its press release, POCO states that it has built the C65 for the Gen Z generation, whatever that means. Perhaps POCO is saying this is a powerful phone for not much money. The driving force behind the POCO C65 is a MediaTek Helio G85 chip up to 2 GHz. According to MediaTek, that chip is suitable for gaming, but what helps performance most is the vast amount of RAM.
RAM starts at 6GB for the model with 128GB of storage and up to 8GB when combined with 256GB of memory. More than enough to run many apps smoothly at the same time. And above average in this price category. Also neat is that the screen has a screen refresh rate of 90Hz, which makes animations and transitions look smooth. The battery has a capacity of 5000mAh and can charge quickly with 18W. Too bad the included charger does not go beyond 10W.
50MP AI triple camera
The camera system of the C65 consists of a total of three lenses: a 50MP primary camera with a f/1.8 lens, a 2MP macro camera, and an unspecified auxiliary lens, possibly for depth recognition. The usability of the macro camera is disappointing due to its limited resolution, so all attention, as far as we are concerned, goes to the primary camera. It features a portrait mode with night mode and various filters.
Discounted price
POCO reports it will deliver the C65 starting November 20 in the colors Black, Purple, and Blue for a suggested retail price of €149.90 for the 6+128GB model and €169.90 for the one with 8+256GB. Those who purchase the device during the first week via mi.com or po.co can expect a €20 discount.
