If the rumors are true, Samsung will release a thinner version of the Galaxy S25 in early 2025. This alleged S25 "Slim," or whatever it will be called, is so far an enigma. Little to nothing is known about it and no one has ever seen anything about it. Until today.
Now we want to temper expectations; for now, it is only about one type number that has appeared. It is about SM-S937(U) which was found by SmartPrix. That is in line with the type numbers of the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra. Those are SM-S931, SM-S936 and SM-S938, respectively.
As SmartPrix rightly notes, Samsung is no stranger to releasing thinner phones. The Galaxy Alpha from 2014, for example, was a thinner version of the 8.1 millimeter thick Galaxy S5.
Not the thinnest Samsung phone ever
And yet, this is far from being the thinnest Samsung phone ever. That honor goes to the 5.9-millimeter thin Samsung Galaxy A8 from 2015. And when we include foldables that makes the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition the thinnest at 4.9 millimeters. But then that applies when unfolded.
The thinner Fold Special Edition was claimed before announcement to be called "Fold 6 Slim. So we're still holding off on the fact that Samsung is going for S25 Slim. It could just be that the name will be Samsung Galaxy S25 Special Edition.
