According to a new rumor, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra will break a record. Its screen will reportedly have the highest peak brightness ever. And that's good news for readability outdoors.
Early 2023, Samsung will most likely announce the Galaxy S23 series, including this S23 Ultra. The Ultra is traditionally the most high-end of the group and incorporates the newest technologies. However, one area in which Samsung plans to distinguish itself is screen brightness. The S23 Ultra will reportedly get a maximum screen brightness of around 2200 nits, according to this rumor.
By comparison, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a peak brightness of 1750 nits. Meaning the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra shines about 25% brighter. At the time of writing, both the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max have the highest peak brightness of any phones with 2,000 nits. Of course, Samsung could not allow this any longer.
Dynamic AMOLED 2x with Vision Booster
The maximum screen brightness of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is not set in stone yet, according to the source. It will be somewhere between 2,100 and 2,200 nits. Samsung is putting some of the best displays in its phones, mainly in its most expensive Galaxy S models. The Dynamic AMOLED screen receives new features and improvements every year and is considered one of the best in the industry.
Samsung will in all likelihood announce this S23 Ultra along with the S23 and S23 Plus sometime in the first quarter of 2023. Should the Ultra get such a bright screen, nothing stands in the way of a bright future.
