The Galaxy A55 is one of Samsung's best-selling smartphone of the moment. But not for long as the Koreans are working on a successor; the Galaxy A56. Today we get the first look at the new mid-range device that promises to be another sales hit.
Images of the Galaxy A56 appeared at AndroidHeadlines and appear to have come from @onleaks. Apart from the color, which is not quite fixed yet, we get a good idea of the successor to the A55.
Still Samsung applies flat sides to the A56, but this time the Key Island appears even flatter on the side. On it are the snooze button and volume buttons. Samsung is applying this elevation with buttons on several low-end and mid-range models.
New cameras?
Most obvious change is the camera module. The three cameras on the back are on the Samsung Galaxy A56 collectively on an elevation while on the A55 they were still separate on the back.
Whether the Galaxy A56 5G will also get different cameras than its predecessor is unclear. The A55 used a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle and a 5MP macro camera, just like on the A54 for that matter.
Other Galaxy A56 specifications
Samsung is rumored to be equipping the Galaxy A56 with fast 45W wired charging. That's a big improvement over the 25W now and is in line with what Samsung applies to its flagships.
Another rumor we received earlier was about the power source of the A56. Samsung may be applying the Exynos 1580 which is comparable in performance to the higher-end Snapdragon 888. That should make this new Galaxy A phone a lot more powerful than its predecessor.
