A user of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL has discovered a rather awkward feature of his new phone. The camera module, which Google completely redesigned for the Pixel 9 series, has come loose.
Google has something for everyone with the Pixel 9 series. The colorful entry-level Pixel 9, the compact flagship the Pixel 9 Pro, the Pixel 9 Pro XL for those who can't get it big enough, and the folding Pixel 9 Pro Fold. And although only the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is foldable this Pixel 9 Pro XL also features what appears to be a moving part.
Obviously, this is not what is intended. The user complaining on Reddit first reported problems with moisture in the camera. Not surprising when you consider that not much later the entire camera module came loose. By the way, entirely through no fault of his own, according to the victim. But they always say that.
Single incident
For now, this is a single incident, so there is no reason to panic yet. Let's hope for the user's sake that this falls under warranty and Google fixes the problem nicely. Should Google do receive several such cases soon it will have a problem. After all, the Pixel 9 series experienced the best quarterly sales for a Pixel phone ever.
