OnePlus and BOE have unveiled a new type of display. This Oriental Screen will be applied in the OnePlus 12, which has not yet been officially announced. OnePlus, therefore, showed a heavily camouflaged sample of the OnePlus 12.
Oriental Screen is the name for a mobile OLED display with 2K resolution and 2600-nits peak brightness. The screen has such high color fidelity that DisplayMate awarded it an A+.
The Oriental Screen uses an LTPO panel and features several eye protection techniques. Examples include high-frequency PWM dimming and a blue-light filter. OnePlus and BOE demonstrated the screen by displaying a OnePlus 12 in a protective case.
OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Ace 3
Oriental Screen will debut on the OnePlus 12 expected in a few weeks. The screen will also end up in the OnePlus Ace 3, albeit in a slightly lower 1.5K resolution. The OnePlus 12 is further expected to feature the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 5,400 mAh battery.
