As we write this, Samsung is working hard on the successor to the Galaxy A35. But what can be improved on an inexpensive entry-level smartphone that already got an updated design of its own? Samsung knows the answer.
Apparently at Samsung, they thought the time was ripe for yet another new design. And so Samsung is focusing on just that with the Galaxy A36. In published photos of the still unannounced device, we see a new camera island.
Here, the three camera modules are placed on a pill-shaped island. Samsung actually moved away from this approach in recent years by placing camera modules loose on the back. Samsung's new approach, however, should look anything but old-fashioned, through robust shapes and a fine finish.
Trial balloon?
That, at least, is the theory. We see in phone that presumably rests very precariously on the table due to its massive camera island. But perhaps this is something we should get used to. Perhaps Samsung is experimenting with a new layout for use in future models, perhaps the Galaxy S series.
Back to the Galaxy A36. Which otherwise features a virtually unchanged front. According to the source, the device measures 162.6 by 77.9 millimeters with a thickness of 7.9 millimeters. What else stands out are the thin screen bezels. Especially on such an inexpensive entry-level model, this is not common.
