Samsung announces familiar-looking Galaxy S23 FE

Without further ado, Samsung announced the Galaxy S23 FE. The latest Fan Edition has a recognizable look and fits seamlessly among the other S23 Series models.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE has a slightly larger 6.4" screen than the S23, which was released in early 2023. Like its larger smaller brother, the S23 FE screen features a dynamic screen refresh, this time between 60 and 120Hz. Samsung remains silent on exactly how bright the screen is.

On the back, we see three cameras, positioned just like on the S23 and S23+. This time, the setup consists of a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide angle with a 123° wide viewing angle. The selfie camera is slightly smaller at 10MP, but the difference is negligible.

S23 FE specifications

Inside sits an unspecified 4nm processor (possibly the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1) with 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage. At 4500mAh, the battery measures considerably more significantly than the Galaxy S23. Whether this significantly improves endurance remains to be seen.

Charging can be done with up to 25W, just like its FE-less counterpart, and wireless charging is among the options. The charger is not included in the box and has to be bought separately. The device comes with Android 1,3, and Samsung promises four to four years of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

S23 FE price and availability

Prices start from US$599. You choose Mint, Cream, Grap, white, and Purple colors. Samsung keeps two exclusive colors: elf, Indigo, and Tangerine. These are only available online from Samsung. Shipping of copies will start on October 26.

At the time of writing, the S23 Fan Edition is only listed on Samsung's U.S. website. The device may get a phased rollout, starting in the US.
