Samsung has announced its thinnest foldable ever in home country South Korea. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition resembles the Z Fold 6 available here but is quite a bit thinner at 10.6 millimeters.
At 10.6 millimeters folded and 4.9 millimeters unfolded, the Z Fold Special Edition is considerably thinner than the Z Fold 6 available here. That one measures 12.1 millimeters folded and 5.6 millimeters unfolded, respectively. However, that is not the only difference between the two.
Because the Fold Special Edition features a larger cover screen of 6.5 inches in size and a larger screen inside of a whopping 8 inches. And the camera resolution is larger as well; the main camera features a 200MP large sensor.
Samsung equips the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. One memory version is available; 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage.
Only in Asia
Despite the thinner profile, this Special Edition features the same 4400mAh battery as its globally-available counterpart. While there are plans to release this device outside of South Korea, for now it is only in China. A global launch is not in the planning for now.
