Currently Qualcomm, MediaTek and Samsung are competing for the fastest and best mobile processor. The Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Dimensity 9400 and Exynos 2500 are competing for a spot in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. Ice Universe thinks it knows which chip has been chosen.
Samsung has more often in the past used chips from Qualcomm and its own Exynos in its Galaxy S flagship. And these days the see the high-end chips from MediaTek being used as well, albeit in the Galaxy Tab but still.
Ideally, Samsung would like to use the Exynos 2500 for the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra, but of these it is rumored that it cannot make enough copies.
Snapdragon 8 Elite
Ice Universe has now learned that Samsung has opted for the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. This chip will take its place not only in the S25 Ultra, but also in the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus. A footnote is in order; we have heard this rumor before, and have seen it denied before.
Should Ice Universe's message be true, this would mean good news for European consumers. They often get the model with an Exynos processor that tends to underperform the Qualcomm Snapdragon version in benchmarks and battery tests. Although the Exynos 2400 chip in the Galaxy S24 is considered the exception to the rule.
