A new photo has appeared on Weibo of the yet-to-be-announced Huawei Mate XT. This triple-folding foldable will be announced in China on Sept. 9 and is supposed to make Apple's iPhone 16 launch a thing of the past.
While Apple has yet to come out with a foldable, Huawei will soon release one that consists of three parts. The device is believed to be named the Huawei Mate XT, and new images of it recently appeared on China's Weibo.
Foldables are already relatively expensive, let alone a tri-foldable. The high price for the Mate XT is confirmed by the source who speaks of an amount above $2,000. For that, you get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in addition to a unique phone/tablet hybrid.
Mate XT thickness
Given the image, the thickness of the Mate XT does not seem to be too bad. Although we do not have exact measurements, it does not seem thicker than the current Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. That one consists of two parts and measures 12.1 millimeters when fully folded.
When unfolded, the Samsung features a 7.8-inch screen while the Huawei goes over 10 inches. That difference should persuade people to go for Huawei and not Samsung. But only when you live in China. After all, the Huawei Mate XT is expected to come out only there.
