Isn't that nice! Motorola has just officially announced the Droid 2 as the Milestone 2 for Europe. The Milestone 2 is the successor of the first Milestone and that just basically covers everything.
Because the Milestone 2 is no revolutionary successor, but an evolutionary. Perhaps revision is a better word for it. There are few changes but that doesn't make the Milestone 2 less important. Biggest change is the physical keyboard. It lacks the directional keypad so keys are a little bit bigger that the first Milestone. This should make typing a little bit more easy.
Next to the improved keyboard there is a new processor running at 1 GHz. And in spite the same 5 megapixel camera chip it now is capable of shooting video at HD quality (720p). That is 1280 by 720 pixels! Also new is the used Android version; Froyo 2.2. It has build-in Flash support and can act as a mobile hotspot. Motorola has used its own MOTOBLUR UI that delivers just a little bit more eye candy than a bare Android device.
It is expected that the Milestone 2 will be in shops in fourth quarter this year. No countries were named yet.
