We have only briefly recovered from Apple's Glow Up event or we already have the next product launch on our hands. It is the Apple Watch SE 2024, which is already available for preorder without further announcement. The watch will be available September 20.
The Apple Watch SE 2024 appeared without a press release on Apple's website and at various online stores. The watch can be ordered immediately and will be available starting September 20, 2024. The aluminum case comes in Midnight, Starlight and Silver colors and in 40 and 44mm sizes.
In addition to a GPS-only, you can also get a version with 4G that doesn't necessarily require you to be connected to your iPhone to be reachable. Straps made of rubber, textile and metal are available. The cheapest Apple Watch SE 2024 costs $299 and for the most expensive you pay $629.
Where's the difference?
We cannot detect any difference in specifications between the Apple Watch SE 2024 and the two previous generations. Except for a new Watch OS and Bluetooth version. The lack of a press release clarifying any of this doesn't help either.
So you still get a 1000-nits bright Retina display, an S8 chip with Siri support, and heart rate notifications for excessive, late or irregular heart rate. As usual with Apple, the previous generation Apple Watch SE models are no longer available. This is what you'll have to make do with from now on.
