At its Wonderlust event, Apple announced an improved version of its most rugged watch. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is still suitable for extreme weather conditions but now features an even brighter screen.
Like all the other watches Apple announced during its Keynote, this Watch Ultra 2 also features the Apple S9 chip. This so-called System-in-a-Package is even more powerful and allows for on-device Siri commands. Ideal for when you need both hands for something else.
Another advantage of the S9 is that it recognizes hand gestures. Apple starts with Double Tap. By tapping your thumb and index finger twice against each other, Apple created a new way to interact with your watch. This allows you to accept incoming phone calls or snooze timers, to name a few.
3000-nits bright screen
The screen of the previous Watch Ultra was already bright, but this Watch Ultra 2 is even brighter. With a peak brightness of 3000 nits, you can read the screen without a problem, even on Mount Everest.
Modular Ultra Watch Face
Apple is also releasing a new watch face specifically for the Ultra. This Modular Ultra takes full advantage of the screen size and provides an overview of all the essential information you need during your sporting adventure.
