Like Apple, Huawei also has a press event scheduled for Sept. 10, 2024. Where Apple will announce the iPhone 16, Huawei is expected to announce a triple folding phone. Difference there must be.
Apple is doing worse and worse in the Chinese market. Huawei, on the other hand, is catching wind in its home market. It is therefore not surprising that Huawei wants to spoil Apple's party by coming up with its own event.
The unveiling of Huawei's triple foldable phone is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. local time. The launch will take place in China and it is not inconceivable that the foldable will be sold only there as well. The shape of the still unnamed device is reminiscent of the letter Z.
Possibly spotted before
We may have spotted Huawei's new flagship device before. A top Huawei executive had his picture taken with it several times. Whether this was intentional or unintentional remains unknown. The device looks thin despite the extra fold, while the inner screen looks extra large.
According to unconfirmed reports, the inner screen would be about 10 inches in size. That would make it similar to a tablet, but would fit in your pocket. By the way, Huawei is not the only one working on a tri-foldable phone; former subsidiary Honor is also working on one.
