Xiaomi reports that it will give the upcoming 13T and 13T four years of Android and five years of security updates. That's one year longer than the previous flagship model. Both phones are expected on Sept. 26 in Berlin.
The news was brought by Daniel Desjarlais, Comms Director of Xiaomi, on X/Twitter. For the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, Xiaomi released 3 Android upgrades and four years of security updates.
We are proud to announce a significant enhancement to our commitment to providing exceptional software support. Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro will include four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches.

This puts Xiaomi a bit more in line with other manufacturers. Samsung also promises four major Android upgrades on many models, and Google even promises five years for its Pixel series. Unlike Samsung, for example, Xiaomi only promises this long duration of support for its flagships. The cheaper Xiaomi models are out of the loop for now.
Android 13 through 17
Xiaomi will announce the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro at an event in Berlin on September 26, 2023. Both phones will feature Leica cameras and a MediaTek processor. The device is expected to come out with Android 13, despite Android 14 being scheduled in just a month. Android 14 will thus be the first update, up to and including Android 17.
