Oppo introduces three shock-resistant phones: A40, A40m and A60 5G

Oppo has announced three new A smartphones via a press release. All three have a waterproof and shockproof body but it serves mainly to cope with everyday mishaps. The story is mainly that they are everyday phones for everyday use at an affordable price.

Starting with the Oppo A40. A smartphone with a 1000-nits bright display with 6.67-inch diagonal. Charging is fast at 45W and the battery also has a slightly above-average capacity of 5100 mAh.

The Oppo A40 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen1 processor, which immediately implies that 5G support is missing. The camera system consists of a 50MP main camera that does pixel-pinning, shooting photos at 12.5MP. The secondary camera is not described and seems to be purely to support the main camera.

Oppo A40m

Much differs the A40m from previously mentioned A40. Only the storage memory and the amount of RAM memory have been doubled. This brings the total to 8+256GB for the Oppo A40m. This also changes the price tag from €189 for the Oppo A40 to €219 for the Oppo A40m.

Oppo A60 5G

Finally, Oppo also released the Oppo A60 5G. On paper, that looks like a 5G version of the existing Oppo A60 but the differences go further. There's a smoother 120 Hz screen, which is also brighter, and a slightly larger 5,100 mAh battery.

It's not all improvement with the A60 5G. For example, the selfie camera goes backwards in resolution, coming out at 5MP. And the RAM memory is even halved to 4GB. However, you do get the same charging speed of 45W.

Expect to see the Oppo A60 5G in stores from September 9 in the color Black Red for a suggested retail price of €249. The Oppo A40 and A40m will also be in stores around that time in the color Sparkle Black.
