Samsung is working on a thinner version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 called the Fold Special Edition. It should be released in South Korea and China later this year but images of it have been missing until now. Android Headlines, however, has the first images and we are happy to share them with you.
Samsung is currently being overtaken left and right by other foldable manufacturers. Both in terms of design and sales numbers. So much so that Honor with its Magic V2 sold more book-style foldables than Samsung. Especially in terms of thickness, Samsung foldables have to suffer.
And so Samsung is working on a thinner Fold 6 in the form of the Fold Special Edition. This measures 10.6 millimeters thick when folded, which is a millimeter and a half thinner than the Z Fold 6. Something that can be clearly seen in the above photo from Android Headlines.
200MP camera
In addition to thinner, Samsung applies a new camera island. This still contains three different cameras, but sticks out a bit further. According to rumors, one of those cameras features a 200MP sensor. The back gets a brushed metal look.
The initial launch is expected to take place only in China and South Korea. Whether Samsung also has plans to release the device elsewhere is still unknown. However, a launch in Europe and the US would make sense given the favorable sales numbers of the Fold and Flip models.
