This June we already mentioned possible problems between the cooperation of Sony and the Swedish Ericsson. This has been confirmed by the CEO of Sony.
The comments of the CEO of Sony have been printed in the German newspaper: "Die Welt". He said some remarkable and quite harsh words about the joint venture between the companies. Howard Stringer is saying: "Without any doubts it has been a difficult year for us, but to buy out a partner is never an easy step".
In the same article Stringer is suggesting that a cooperation with another big company can bring the joint venture back to the top, or at least make it survice some years. "But sometimes you have to face the truth and pull the plug out of the cooperation".
Remarkable harsh words from a usually politic correct CEO. For now, we're just hoping that Sony Ericsson keeps surprising us with excellent and progressive mobile phones.
