LG KC910; 8 megapixel Viewty-follower

Sony Ericsson and Samsung have already been producing 8 megapixel smartphones, now LG is joining them. The Koreans have introduced the KC910, a dignified follower of the Viewty, with a 8 magapixel camera.

The LG KC910 has been announced officially and will probably be in stores this October. The device has a 3 inch touchscreen, comparable with the KU990 Viewty with three prominent buttons on the bottom.

Furthermore, we can tell you that the KC910 is a quadband phone with UMTS and HSDPA 3G support. The display has a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and is capable of render 262 thousand different colours.

8 megapixel
The best reason to buy the phone has to be the built-in 8 megapixel camera. We haven't seen any pictures of the backside of the KC910, that's too bad. We do know that the phone has a Xenon flash, so we don't need to worry about taking pictures by night. Video's can be made as well, and more important: in DVD quality (30 fps in VGA resolution)! It is also possible to take pictures with less than 8 megapixel. An advantage is than that more images can be shot each second; 120 frames per second in QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels). Furthermore, the KC910 has a image stabilisator, a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, face-, smile- and blink-recognition.

Dolby sound
Other specifications like WiFi, GPS, TV-out, Bluetooth and a MicroSDHC memory card slot are ofcourse not missing on a high-end phone like this one. What's interesting is also the fact that the device has Dolby Mobile, that should produce a high sound quality.

And if you're thinking that 8 megapixel and all the other above mentioned specifications can't fit in a compact device, you're wrong! The KC910 is only 14mm thick, so let's give the Koreans some honour!
