It is August 2024 and we still don't have a picture of the Samsung Galaxy S25. No design has leaked, no drawing, not even a description. @UniverseIce does make a good attempt today, though we wonder aloud if this helps us.
Insider @UniverseIce tells us that Samsung is taking into account the Galaxy S25 with the design of the Galaxy XR. But what exactly does this mean?
The Samsung Galaxy XR promises to be mixed AR/VR glasses that Samsung is teaming up with Google to release sometime in early 2025. That's not entirely coincidentally around the same time as the Galaxy S25 series is due out. The glasses are supposed to be the answer to the Apple Vision Pro. It is not Samsung's first VR glasses, the Gear VR and VR 2 preceded it.
Galaxy XR
The Gear VR glasses had in common that you use your smartphone as a screen. You have to attach it to the front of the glasses. Whether the new Galaxy XR also has to do this is not obvious if the device sees the Vision Pro as a competitor. But we can't rule it out. So why should the design of Galaxy S25 take into account the Galaxy XR?
You may still need to pair with a phone without having to plug it into the glasses. Consider a cable between the two, or requiring the phone to be used as a controller.
Galaxy S25 specifications
No images are available yet about the Galaxy S25 so we don't have any answers on that yet. However, there are already some rumors about S25 specifications. For example, Samsung itself stated that the device will have the best cameras, displays and chipsets available.
